President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of France, Jean-Louis Falconi, to discuss bilateral relations, our country's progress on the European path, as well as the situation in the region and the future of Belgrade-Priština dialogue.
President Vučić emphasised the importance of cooperation with France for Serbia, both on the political and economic levels, and that he was pleased with the attention that President Macron pays to the relations between the two countries.
At the meeting, also attended by Ministers Siniša Mali and Nebojša Stefanović, further strengthening of cooperation was discussed, especially in the fields of infrastructure and defence, i.e. military-technical cooperation.
It was stated that the works on joint projects, such as the Belgrade metro, the "Nikola Tesla" airport managed by the French company Vinci, and the Vinča landfill, in which the French company Suez participates, follow the planned dynamics, but that any opportunity to speed up activities is welcomed regarding their realisation.
President Vučić expressed the expectation that good economic results and investment conditions will bring more investors from France to Serbia.
When it comes to the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, President Vučić said that readiness always exists to find a compromise solution and that he will respond to the invitation from Brussels, but that a lot of strength and energy is needed to reach a compromise. He added that our delegation will take into account the state and national interests of Serbia.
