CURRICULUM VITAE

Mr. Slavoljub Carić

Born in Smederevo, Republic of Serbia, on 13 November 1962;

Graduated from Belgrade University – Law Faculty in 1986 (grade 9,50);

Postgraduate studies in the International Law, Belgrade Law Faculty (LL.M – Advisory Opinions of the ICJ - 1992 and LL.D – Rights of Foreigners on the Real Estates - 2005);

Bar exam (LL.B) 1987;

He trained in the field of Human Rights and EU law at ENA in Paris and the College of Europe in Bruges;

From 1986 to 1998 he worked in the judiciary (trainee, professional associate, judge of the Second Municipal Court in Belgrade and judge of the District Court in Belgrade);

In the period from 1998 to 2002 he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (First secretary and Counsellor in the Service for International Legal Affairs);

In the period from 2002 to 2006, he worked as a Counsellor for court disputes at Embassy of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro in The Hague;

From January 2006 to September 2013, he was the Agent of the Republic of Serbia before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and he was the representative of the RS in the Steering Committee for Human Rights (CDDH) of the Council of Europe. During the mentioned period, he was the Assistant to the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Serbia;

From September 2013 to August 2019 he was the Head of the International Legal Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the rank of ambassador, Head of National Commission for International Humanitarian Law, Representative of the Republic of Serbia in the Committee of Legal Advisers on Public International Law of the Council of Europe (CAHDI);

From August 2019 to July 2021, he was the Minister Counsellor and Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Moscow;

From July 2021 to April 2022 he was Chargé d'affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Moscow;

From April 2022 to July 2023 Coordinator in the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia in the rank of ambassador;

From July 2023 Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Strasbourg;

Published 6 books in the field of the International Law (Private International Law and Human Rights Law) and more than 60 articles; Law Professor (National Academy for Public Administration; Diplomatic Academy; Law Faculty of Belgrade; Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary in Novi Sad);

Married, one daughter.
