On May 19, 2018 in the department of Yonne (Jon), in the city of Sens, organized by the Association "Sumadija -Sens" the first celebration of the Serbian-French friendship was held, attended by representatives of the local authorities, our citizens, representative of the Embassy of RS in Paris and the Consul of RS in Strasbourg.

On that occasion, the ceremony was opened by the mayor of Sеns Mrs. Marie Louis Fort, who emphasized that the activities of the associations are of significance for the cultural development of the municipality and its diversification. President of the association, Goran Radosavljević, emphasized the importance of the historical friendship of the two people, after which an appropriate program of the association's history was organized, with a focus on the events that they organized during their existence so far. The celebration continued with the sightseeing of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Sens, with the lecture of Professor Bernard Brous, historian and with the presence to the grand opening of, for this region very important exhibition ”Le Petit Senon” dedicated to archeological discoveries and historical sources on the life of Gal`s in this region.

After that, in the evening, a mass-celebration (performance and play) was organized, with a greater presence of our citizens.

This ceremonious celebration was attended, according to the invitation of president of the Club, by Mr. Dominique Huard, Assistant Mayor of Sens, with whom further cooperation was agreed on the presentation of cultural projects important for the Republic of Serbia.
