In department of Yonne (Jon), in the city of Sans, organized by the Association "Sumadija -Sans", an opening of exhibition of Serbian-French friendship during the First World War was attended by representatives of local authorities, our citizens, Alexis Troude, professor of geopolitics of the University of Versailles and Consul of RS in Strasbourg.

On that occasion, the ceremony was opened by Goran Radosavljević, president of the Association who emphasized the need to remember the historical friendship of the two nations and to continue to develop it.

In his speech, the Consul pointed out that it was necessary to cultivate the "culture of memory" and pointed to the immeasurable sacrifices of the people who were dying for the civilization values of humanity, among which the Serbian people were always in the first line, who in the great war experienced a demographic catastrophe of which Serbia has not recovered to this day. At the same time, she thanked for the help provided by the people of France, who took care of the Serbian people to survive the bitter war, remembering the Serbian and other victims of the First World War, which we must not let ourselves forget even after 100 years.

Professor Troude, who was at the same time the author of the exhibition, in his speech explained the weight of the struggle led by the Serbian people, the strategic position in the battles and the immense courage and determination that resulted in the victory and the signing of the Armistice. The exhibition material is made up of cuttings from French sources from that time: newspaper articles, photographs, preserved letters, texts about the heroism of our people written in French.

At the closing of the exhibition, which will be visited by pupils of the supplementary Serbian school, it is envisaged to present the film by Slađana Zarić, Serbia in the Great War, which was submitted by the author in an electronic version.
